Meet PiPath's Lead Educator: Dr. Orlando Ferrer.
Orlando completed his Mathematics Ph.D. at Duke University. Throughout his academic career, he realized his biggest impact came from finding intuitive ways to teach difficult concepts. Instead of memorizing math, he focuses on having students build conceptual mastery by challenging themselves and asking, “Why is this true?”
Orlando has applied this philosophy for over ten years to help students overcome their math anxiety and often discover a passion for the subject.

Are sessions online or in person?
Math Help Room and SAT Math Bootcamp meet in person in Apex, NC. One-on-one tutoring is primarily in person in Apex, with online sessions available by request.
How do I choose the right support?
Math Help Room offers 1.5-hour small-group sessions for high-school math. It is our budget-friendly option for steady, long-term support with coursework, homework, and test preparation. One-on-one tutoring offers 1-hour sessions for K–8 students who need individual attention. SAT Math Bootcamp is a fixed four-week course focused on SAT preparation.
We strongly recommend consistent, long-term math support rather than waiting until the night before a test. Start early so your student has time to build understanding, practice regularly, and work through questions as they arise.
How does the Math Help Room work?
Work on your own homework, study materials, and exam prep with Dr. Ferrer in a group of up to 6 students. Sessions last 90 minutes and meet Tuesdays & Thursdays, 7:00–8:30 PM ET.
Where do we meet?
Sessions meet in person at a residence in Apex, NC. The address and arrival instructions are emailed after purchase.
How do purchases and bookings work?
Choose a $199 four-session pack or a $59 single session in the Parent Portal. Each purchase belongs to one student and is valid for one year. Book any available Tuesday or Thursday session up to 4 weeks ahead, in any combination of days. Buying visits does not reserve a seat; each session must finish before the visits expire.
Can I reschedule or get a refund?
Purchases are non-refundable. To reschedule, cancel at least 24 hours before the session to return the visit to your balance, then book another available Tuesday or Thursday. Returned visits keep their original expiry. Later cancellations do not return a visit.
How does the SAT Math Bootcamp work?
This is a fixed four-week, in-person course in Apex, NC, taught by Dr. Orlando Ferrer. The next cohort meets October 31–November 21, 2026, Saturdays, 10:00 AM–12:30 PM ET. Tuition is $399 for four 2.5-hour sessions, with up to 8 students.
What if my student has not taken an SAT or PSAT yet?
A free diagnostic helps establish a baseline and identify priority topics.
How is the work personalized?
The class covers shared SAT Math topics. With up to 8 students, Dr. Ferrer can answer individual questions and provide feedback during guided practice. Timed classwork informs homework tailored to each student's needs.
What if my student misses a class?
We strongly recommend attending all four sessions. If an emergency or another unexpected situation prevents attendance, we provide a recording covering that day's content for independent study.
Where are classes held?
Classes meet in person in Apex, NC. Exact directions and arrival details are shared privately with enrolled families.
What if I want one-on-one support?
One-on-one tutoring offers 1-hour sessions for K–8 students, primarily in person in Apex. Online sessions are available by request. Discuss your student's goals, schedule, and pricing with us before arranging sessions.
